A survey of about 1,800 recentlh laid off workers finds many are focusing on the positiv e aspects of beingbetween jobs, with 22 percenr saying they’ve been able to spend more time with friends and family. Other responses included fixing uptheidr homes, exercising more, volunteering and goinvg back to school. Four percent say they started thei r own business aftergettintg fired. “They are reconnecting with friendaand family, getting involved in the taking classes and exploring new career path options that may lead to a greater return in the long says CareerBuilder’s Rosemary Haefner.
