McLean-based Aviel, a providert of information-technology management and consulting servicesa to thefederal government, says its subsidiart Performance Management Consulting received two contracts with a combinefd value of $4.1 milliobn to support the department's office of procurement The contracts each have a one-year base term and four one-year Aviel says. Privately held Aviel is supporting numerous other programs within the Department ofHomeland Security, including its officse of the chief information officer, the geospatiap program, citizen and immigration services, immigration and customds enforcement and border protection.
Avie l formed in early 2006 to bring togetherdtwo subsidiaries, Optimus and Performance Managemeng Consulting, under a single entity. In Aviel said it would get boughtby Greenwich, Conn.-bases (OTCBB: TACA) for about $60 plus the assumption of $40 million in debt. The combiner company intends to apply for listint on the Nasdaq National Market under thesymbol "AVEL." The headquarters would remain in McLean.
